THE ÇORUM TWİN MANSIONS

Owned by the municipality, this structure, originally a private residence, is a two-story timber-frame construction built on a masonry stone foundation. This cultural heritage asset features an "açık sofa" (open hall) plan and has remarkably preserved original architectural elements, including a "gusülhane" (ablution chamber) and historic built-in cupboards.
The municipality requested the preparation of a project to repurpose the building for use as a guesthouse.
In this context, the project commenced with a high-precision architectural survey utilizing 3D laser scanning and advanced photogrammetry. The subsequent restitution phase, based on detailed historical research, documented the building's original residential layout and features. The final restoration project was then conceptualized as an adaptive reuse plan. It proposes a modern intervention that respects the building's authentic character while sensitively integrating the necessary amenities and comfort standards required for a contemporary guesthouse function. The complete suite of survey, restitution, and restoration projects has been prepared.
