This project, located on a listed parcel in the Domaniç district of Kütahya, addressed the complex case of a historic, listed minaret standing adjacent to a structurally deficient mosque of recent construction.

A comprehensive architectural survey of both structures was conducted as the initial phase, utilizing high-precision 3D laser scanning and advanced photogrammetry. Following this documentation, a strategic decision was made to proceed with the demolition of the structurally unsound mosque while ensuring the full preservation of the historically significant minaret. Subsequently, a new mosque was designed for the site. This new design, grounded in historical and contextual research, presents a modern architectural approach conceived to be in sensitive dialogue with the preserved historic minaret and its cultural environment.
