GÖLPAZARI FACADE REHABILITATION
A comprehensive conservation initiative was undertaken for a designated historic area in the Orta Mahallesi of Gölpazarı, Bilecik, encompassing the buildings located between Bakan Fatih Dönmez Avenue, Uray Street, and Ankara Avenue.
The project commenced with a high-precision documentation of all building facades within the area, utilizing 3D terrestrial LiDAR scanning technology. Based on this data, detailed facade surveys (rölöve) were prepared. A comprehensive typological study of the region's traditional architectural elements was also conducted. The findings of this study directly informed the restoration interventions proposed in the subsequent phase.
The buildings, which primarily date to the 20th century, typically feature a mix of residential and commercial functions. Structurally, they are timber-frame constructions on stone foundations, consisting mostly of single-story and two-story buildings, with some also including basements.
The complete suite of survey and restoration projects has been prepared and officially approved by the relevant Regional Conservation Board.
